Peter Schmidt
Peter’s focus in healthcare is rooted in his rare and comprehensive understanding of the historical classics of Chinese medicine. His ability to excel in the classics has allowed him to create innovative and effective modern medical applications. Peter’s experience as a graduate professor of Oriental Medicine in New York City helped him solidify ancient medical wisdom in a modern world. It is the deeper definitions of health and wellness that have always driven his vision of care. Peter’s holistic approach to health and life provides a critical grounding focus to The Green Athlete.
Justin Angle
Justin is an ultramarathon runner who captured three podium finishes at the 100-mile distance in 2008. He was also the 2007 age-group National Champion for 50-mile trail racing. When he is not running, Justin is working toward a Ph.D. in Marketing at the University of Washington.
Justin met Chris through their shared interest in using their sport as a platform for promoting more awareness of our current environmental challenges. He is excited to be involved with The Green Athlete.
Chris Lieto: Founder
Chris is a three-time Ironman Champion and former U.S. National Ironman Champion. Year after year Chris’s discipline and dedication to the sport of triathlon have paid off. With an impressive 2007 season including a 6th place finish at the Ironman World Championships, Chris eager to climb even higher in the sport.
In addition to training and racing it has always been important for Chris to have balance in his life. Chris has successfully created that balance with work and family and through the launch of The Green Athlete.
Matt Reed
2008 Olympian Matt Reed has taken some big Green steps in 2009. He has added solar panel and compact fluorescent light bulbs to his house and developed a keen interest in composting.
William Pettis
William has a 20-year history in medicine. He is one of the youngest recipients of Acupuncturist of the Year Award in America, which is awarded annually for excellence in Oriental Medicine. William’s study and practice of both western and eastern medicine has enabled him to create a new vision for health and wellness. Since he is able to view the human experience from a western bio-chemical perspective as well as the functionality of eastern energetic medicine he has developed a more inclusive picture of health, wellness and disease prevention. He has focused on the fields of oncology and sports medicine. His commitment to The Green Athlete stems from his dedication to helping athletes pursue excellence through sustainable means.
